BAM (Bike Around Murray) is an annual road-bike ride that will takes place in Murray County, Georgia. BAM starts and ends at the Murray County Recreation Center in Chatsworth, Georgia with at least one of the courses including the infamous Fort Mountain.
BAM is more than just a bike ride; it’s bringing awareness to diabetes and emphasizes the importance of living a healthy lifestyle! Last year, the Northwest Georgia Healthcare Partnership was awarded a Together on Diabetes grant (supported by the CDC, Appalachian Regional Commission, and the Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation; managed by Marshall University) to prevent and control diabetes in Murray County, Georgia.
The 2013 “Fast Facts” introduced by the American Diabetes Association outlined the key facts (below) as well as other mind-blowing statistics on diabetes (click here). There’s no time to waste! We need to act now.
It’s was our goal to create an event that anyone can take part in. That’s why we offer a variety of routes to accommodate not only the more experienced rider but all the way to the newest of riders (kid’s ride) and everyone in between. There will be something for everyone!
As we continue to plan this event, we welcome your thoughts and suggestions. We hope to have a healthy balance of caterings to both our extremely competitive as well as casual, just-for-fun riders! Please feel free to reach out to us at 706.272.6662 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
